Having grown up in the Shenandoah Valley, Ben Cline is one of us. He shares our values and fights to make sure our voice is heard in Washington. Prior to his election to Congress, Ben worked as an attorney, first by serving as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, and then by launching a private practice with offices in Lexington, Amherst, and Harrisonburg. Ben also served in the Virginia House of Delegates, where, as Chairman of the Conservative Caucus, he fought to protect our rights and liberties, stop tax increases, and protect rural Virginians’ way of life.
Secure the border and restore law and order
For too long, our country has tolerated an open border, weak enforcement, and a breakdown in respect for the laws that protect Americans. That has consequences for working families, law enforcement, and communities across the country. I believe the first responsibility of government is to protect its citizens. That means securing our southern border, enforcing our immigration laws, giving law enforcement the tools and support they need to hold criminals accountable.
Stop reckless spending driving inflation
Through a concerted review effort and the implementation of efficiency measures, rampant fraud and abuse of our welfare system has been identified. Protecting our social safety net programs is essential to ensuring that American citizens receive the assistance they expect and the longterm solvency of each program.
Programs like Medicare and Social Security were meant to be a hand up, not a hand out -- and certainly not a license to steal. In Congress, I'll continue to fight rampant fraud and abuse and hold fraudsters accountable.
Maintain accessible rural healthcare
In Congress, I voted to secure $50B for rural healthcare, resulting in Virginia seeing hundreds of millions towards protecting rural healthcare access. I will continue to fight for our rural healthcare networks and pushing back against policies that would bankrupt our hospitals.
Policies like "Medicare-for-All" would bankrupt rural hospitals, leading to hospital closures and rural communities losing access to healthcare.
Protect our Second Amendment rights
The Second Amendment guarantees our intrinsic right to self-defense and I will fight every effort to undermine the Constitution and to attempt to disarm American citizens. I promise to fight every day to defend the Second Amendment so that we can protect ourselves and our families.

Defend American energy and jobs
We should pursue an all-of-the-above energy approach to strengthen American energy independence and grow our manufacturing capabilities right here at home. Ensuring reliable, affordable energy is crucial to lowering everyday costs.
Instead of shipping our jobs, and our energy needs, overseas to our adversaries, we should be making use of our abundant resources in America to unleash American prosperity.
Ban foreign adversaries like China from owning American Farmland
This issue isn't complicated: China should never own American farmland. It doesn't matter if it's a Chinese-based agricultural company or expanding manufacturing, the Chinese Communist Party should never be able to own American land.
Stop the radical DEI and LGBTQ+ infecting our federal government
During Joe Biden's administration, the radical left ran amok and infected our federal government with out-of-touch mandates, leading to decreased military standards, unsafe sports for girls, and DEI quotas that permanently damaged our federal and private sector workforces.
Now, we've systematically removed this from our government, because America's government is not the place for woke social experimentation -- it's where we get to work for the American people.
Fully fund our military to keep America safe
As a member of the Intelligence Committee in Congress, I see first-hand just how vital it is to fully fund our military.
This includes investing in emerging technologies so that America can continue to be on the cutting edge of warfare to defend the American people, supporting our active duty personnel, and protecting the industries and jobs that support American readiness.
